Tour Reservation & Payment

Reservation and Payment

Tour Reservations
For any tour to Bhutan, early reservation is advisable to secure flight bookings or hotel rooms. Booking arrangements must be completed 4 weeks in advance, but for cultural tours during festivals, arrangements must be completed 6 weeks in advance. The spring and autumn festivals are our peak times for tourism, and without early reservations it can be difficult to confirm flights and hotels. For trekking groups, booking arrangements should be completed at least 8 weeks in advance, as this activity requires detailed forward planning.

Tour tariff
The international tourist tariff is determined by the Royal Government of Bhutan. The policy of value tourism is best supported by a system of daily minimum tariff of USD 200 per person per day fixed by the Royal Government of Bhutan (RGoB). This rate is the same for al tour operators in Bhutan and the rates can be higher, depending upon the nature of services desired beyond the entitlement for USD 200.

The daily minimum prices most often misinterpreted to be extremely high. The fee infact covers a package that include all internal taxes and charges including royalty, accommodation, all meals, services of licensed guides, internal transport and camping equipments and haulage for trekking tours. The royalty portion goes to the government exchequer, which in turn mainly supports free medical care, free education and other welfare schemes. All visitors in a way therefore make valuable contribution to the welfare system of the country.

FIT Surcharge
Individual traveler or smaller group of less than three persons, shall be subject to surcharge. Surcharge of USD 40 per night for single person and USD 30 per night for two persons goes directly to the Government of Bhutan.

Supplement Charge
There is supplementary charge for single room, use of luxury transport and hotels/resorts. A sum of USD 10 per tourist per visit shall be payable towards Tourism Development Fund (TDF).
